WHY SELECT WHITE QUARTZ WORKTOPS?

At Terralux we view your worktops as the focal point of your kitchen. We frequently receive inquiries about ‘which colour will complement my kitchen the most?’ This ultimately depends on individual taste, but there are definitely benefits to having white surfaces in your kitchen. Typically, you have numerous options available when selecting white surfaces. We often notice that there is significantly more variety in quartz.

Worktops

All of our quartz is obtained from the top suppliers in the world. Whether you seek a Calacatta centrepiece or a subtle plain White, we have ample stock available. Thanks to the high standards of our suppliers, the surfaces are non-porous and highly resistant to stains.

White surfaces can significantly enhance a kitchen’s appearance. Over time, our clients have frequently utilized these to ‘brighten up’ an area or give a kitchen a modern look. While White is often associated with contemporary kitchens, it also complements more traditional designs! Additionally, White can create the illusion of a larger space, making it the most favoured option among our customers.

White is a colour that pairs well with everything. Having a white foundation is incredibly versatile, accommodating a wide variety of patterns, as well as standard and off-whites.

From a cleanliness perspective, white surfaces reveal spills and general imperfections more clearly than others! As long as you maintain your surfaces and keep them clean, White will consistently enhance the area!

Overall, White Quartz offers significantly more advantages than disadvantages. They do need to be kept clean, as any dirt accumulation will be more noticeable. However, we strongly recommend that our customers clean their quartz daily or after use! This practice will ensure the longevity of your quartz, which should last a lifetime!

How frequently should I clean my worktop?

While quartz requires minimal maintenance, we recommend cleaning it daily. Whether you’ve prepared a sandwich or a complete Sunday roast, prevention is always the best strategy! It’s crucial to promptly clean up spills to prevent any staining. We suggest using warm water along with a small amount of surface cleaner or antibacterial detergent and a soft cloth for cleaning the surfaces. Most standard cleaners should suffice! However, it’s essential to avoid anything overly acidic! If daily cleaning is neglected, there may be a buildup, necessitating a deep clean.

What should you do if stains occur?

We anticipate that you will utilize your worktops, especially in your kitchen! Unfortunately, accidents can happen, leading to staining. Since quartz is non-porous, most stains can typically be removed.

To eliminate a buildup or stains, apply alcohol to a soft cloth. Then, gently rub the stain for about 20 seconds. After that, we recommend cleaning the surface with soapy water. You can also purchase a general work surface cleaner, but ensure it is not overly acidic!

If you are uncertain, feel free to call us, and we can guide you through the process. If you’re still unsure, Terralux offers our own cleaner, and we would be happy to send it to you!

There are specific considerations you should always keep in mind when cleaning or using your quartz!

Dos and don’ts for quartz cleaning:

DO:

  • Clean work surfaces after each use or daily – this will help minimize the likelihood of buildup and staining.
  • Remove waste promptly – prevention is the best protection! Don’t wait until it’s too late!
  • Check products before use – if you have any inquiries, please reach out. We’re just a phone call away and want to ensure your surfaces are properly maintained!
  • Protect the surface – if you believe something could harm the surface, it’s better to be cautious!

DON’T:

  • Use harsh chemical cleaners – particularly acidic products can be harmful when cleaning. Always verify the composition of your cleaner.
  • Place direct heat on your quartz – putting hot pots and pans on the surface can cause the quartz to expand. This may result in significant discoloration, which won’t be covered by any warranty.
  • Cut directly on quartz – always use a cutting board. Need one? We can assist you with that!
  • Assume quartz is indestructible – while it is one of the most durable materials available, it still requires maintenance.
